Wet Burritos Recipe

Instructions

Preheat the Oven
Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Cook the Beef and Onion
In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is cooked through and the onion begins to soften. Drain the grease.

Season and Add Fillings
Stir in the minced garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add the diced green chiles and refried beans. Mix until well blended. Turn off the heat but keep warm.

Prepare the Sauce
In a saucepan, combine the tomato sauce, enchilada sauce, and no-bean chili. Whisk together and heat over medium heat until warmed through. Then turn off the heat.

Assemble the Burritos
Divide the beef and bean mixture into 6 equal portions.

Place one tortilla on a plate.

Add 1 portion of the filling to the center.

Top with a bit of cheese and shredded lettuce (optional if baking).

Fold the left and right sides over the filling, then fold the top and bottom to form an envelope.

Place seam-side down in a greased 9×13 baking dish. Repeat with remaining tortillas.

Add Sauce and Cheese
Pour the prepared sauce evenly over all burritos. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.

Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, until burritos are heated through and cheese is fully melted.

Garnish and Serve
Top with more shredded lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, chopped green onions, dried chives, or your favorite toppings.
